Our family has been trying to create a new family tradition of Pancake Sundays after church.  Like I've mentioned before my husband works on 1st shift two weeks of the month and 2 weeks on 2nd shift the rest of the month.  So spending time with dad on the weekends is important to our kiddos.  I came accross Coombs Family Farms while researching "green" and organic foods.


Coombs Family Farms is a seventh generation small family maple farm that works with other small independent family farmers who share their commitment to quality, environmental stewardship, and sustainable forestry, which is why I was excited to include them in The Groschen Goblins Go Green for St. Patrick's Day Event. 

I was sent a bottle of their maples syrup, 100% Pure Maple Candy, Pure Maple Sugar, and some really great recipe ideas.  So the Groschens decided to have a pancake party (for dinner)!  We used a generic pancake mix, but Coombs Family Farms sells Pancake Mix as well.  The syrup was wonderful - we loved it.  The consistensy was a little thinner than your average pancake syrup so we actually used less than we normally would.  We also let the kids try the Maple Candy after our pancake dinner (nothing like sugaring up the kids before bed) and of course they loved it.  There are many wonderful maple recipe ideas on their website and I can't wait to try them.  We have't tried the Maple Sugar yet, but I'm excited to try that too!  Yummy!
