Groschen Goblins Go Green - Sodastream Fountain Jet Home Soda Maker - Review & Giveaway

CONTEST CLOSED
I was so excited to receive a SodaStream Jet Home Soda Maker for a review and giveaway.  I love my soda - which isn't always a good thing, but I thought if it is a way to save money on soda AND be more environmentally friendly then my cases and cases of soda, I'd love to give it a try.  I was curious about the taste of the different sodas and whether it was going to be something that sat on my counter taking up room, never being used because it was too much "fiddling around".  I was sent the Fountain Jet Home Soda Maker Starter Kit in Black/Silver.

Well, not only is it extremely easy to use, but the sodas taste wonderful.  I do not notice any difference in the tastes of the sodas compared to their comparable name brands.  My hubby loves it-he makes soda every day.  He even showed the kids how to use it, although we decided to keep it on top of the fridge.  We generally don't give our kids much soda except on family movie night.  Their sodas do have less calories carbs, sugar, sodium and caffeine.  SodaStream has a wide variety of over 30 sodamix syrups including dozens of regular, diet and caffeine-free options. Flavors include classics like cola, lemon-lime, and root beer...Exotic fruit flavors like orange mango and diet pink grapefruit...Energy drink, sparkling iced teas and cocktail mixers. Each bottle of sodamix makes about 12 liters of soda (about 33 cans!) for around 25 cents per 12-ounce can.

I am so happy to include them in the "Groschens Goblins Go Green" for St. Patrick's Day Event because of their Environmentally Friendly Products.  I encourage you to go HERE and read about how you reduce your carbon footprint making your soda instead of buying it in bottles or cans.

Buy it:
The Fountain Jet Soda Maker start at $89.95.

Gift it:
The Sodastream Soda Makers would make an excellent House Warming Gift or other special occasion gift!

Win it:
The Wonderful People at SodaStream are giving one Lucky Goblin Reader Fountain the Jet Soda Lover's Start-Up Kit (approx. $100 retail value.) It includes the winner's choice of black/silver, white or red/silver Fountain Jet, CO2 to make over 100 liters of soda, 2 reusable carbonating bottles, a sample pack of flavors, and 3 full-sized flavors of the winner's choice.  Hooray!

I think the biggest way Sodastream is helping the environment is that it is eliminating plastic soda bottles when you make your own soda from home. It's fantastic.

Making your own and not using tons of bottles is the biggest plus. Plus figuring all the travel miles a bottle of pop/soda/water makes before it's even in your hands, well that's a biggy too.
Plus I have a friend that would use this every single day so a perfect gift for her.
So include me please.
Take care and enjoy your day. God Bless my dear.

I learned

SodaStream is an "Active Green" product, meaning that consumers are actively reducing their CO2 footprint every time they make soda or sparkling water at home instead of buying it from the store. The more the system is used on a daily basis, the more CO2 footprint the user actively saves. (This differs from "Passive Green" products, which use green-friendly production processes, but their products are not inherently helping the consumers save on their daily footprint.)
