Goblin Fun in the Sun - Great Big Outdoor Playball (GBOP) Review & Giveaway

I have to say that I have been DYING to post this review, and I think, it's a fun jumping off point for all the Fun in the Sun The Groschen Goblins (and you too-I hope!) are going to have this summer.  We received the Great Big Outdoor Playball (GBOP) from HearthSong Toys a couple weeks ago.  We couldn't even wait 5 minutes to rip open the box.  Each bubble chamber is blown up separately, so it would be a little bit of a hassle without an electric pump, which we received, or an air compressor, which we used, because we couldn't wait to see how big the ball was actually going to be.  And when I say we, I mean Joe and me.  The kids were at school.  What, you think I'm kidding?  LOL.

And, I'm not really sure how this happens, but it took all of 10 minutes for every kid in a 2 mile radius to show up at our house to have their turn in the GBOP.  You can Roll 'em, race 'em, run with 'em or climb right into them for a colorful view of the world!  The GBOPs are great for solo or group play!

Ok, I admit it, I have an addiction to beautiful, girly, frilly, cute, etc. clothes and accessories for my girls - And I'm running out of time.  My girls are 14, 10 and 6.  They're only going to go along with my fashion choices for a little while longer.  And while I admit I have become powerless over my frilly addiction, I am not ready to go to Frilly Fashion Rehab just yet (LOL).  So, I contacted Amy at Flowerz in Her Hair.and asked if she would participate in a review and giveaway and she obliged.  I was sent these beautiful hair accessories for the girls and they're just adorable!!  And what I love about all these items is that they can be worn for any special occassion or just to school on any old day.  Gracie wore hers this week to school and she felt like a princess.

Sammy LOVES purple and her hair is super thin so it's hard to get any hair accessory to work in her hair.  Headbands work great!

She also sent the teenager (a.k.a. Kayla) a "spirit" clip.  It's red, black and white (school colors) with football ribbons.   I didn't get a picture of her wearing it, but it's perfect as she just made Varsity Football Cheerleading (Hooray!)

Acitveion Ionator HOM Review & Giveaway (ARV $169) **US ONLY**

So what is The Activeion Ionator HOM? It is a handheld appliance that is a great multi-surface cleaner that kills more than 99.9% of most harmful bacteria including the H1N1 virus (when used as directed) by ionizing tap water through physics and electrical engineering. It does not use any cleaning chemicals and therefore does not leave behind any chemical residue. The ionator HOM is designed for the residential user.  With just a faucet and the ionator HOM, people now have an abundant supply of effective cleaner without chemicals. The ionator HOM is a good choice for people, animals and the environment.
Sounds crazy right?  I was so curious about this unit.  Not so much for the benefit of being completely chemical free, although that's a huge plus, but because it claimed that it could clean virtually anything with just my tap water.
That's a huge claim.  So, when it arrived for my review I opened it and immediately took it to one of the dirtiest, grimiest areas in my house....The stove hood!  We filled the ionator with tap water according to the directions, sprayed down the hood, found a plain white towel and wiped it down.  And you know what?  It worked. Perfectly!  With not a lot of elbow grease either!  I also have used it for pretreating stains on clothes, shower and bathroom cleaning, kitchen table and counters!  It seems to be working great!  The only thing I don't like IS actually there is no clean scent.  This is true of almost all the environmentally friendly products that I try.  Maybe glade could come up with a plug-in or candle that smells like Pinesol (LOL), kind of like "New Car Smell".
So, how does the Activeion™ technology work? (Taken from their website)

The Activeion™ technology uses blended stream water electrolysis and a science called electroporation to activate and convert tap water into ionized water, a powerful dirt-removing, bacteria-killing agent. This happens through a four-step process: (1) CHARGING: When the trigger is pressed, the water flows through a water cell that applies a slight electrical charge to the tap water; (2) TRANSFORMING: Next, the water passes through an ion exchange membrane, where the ionized water is separated into an oxygenated mixture of positively and negatively electrically charged nano-bubbles; (3) CLEANING: When applied directly to a surface, the ionized water helps lift the dirt from the surface like a magnet, enabling it to be wiped away; and (4) SANITIZING: As the water is sprayed on a surface, it carries a low-level electric field to the surface where the germs may be living. This low-level electric field ruptures and kills germs (when used as directed).

Charlie's Soap Review & Giveaway

A couple months back I won a giveaway of Charlie's Soap from Sweeps4Bloggers.  When it arrived I couldn't wait to try it.  I was sent the kit below. 

I tried the Liquid Laundry Soap.  Again, I was a little leary because you use so little for a load.  A 17oz bottle washes 16 loads!  It worked great!  I also tried the stain remover and it worked on everything I tried it on.  I was very impressed.  The powder detergent worked as well as the liquid.  I was sent the all-purpose spray cleaner that you can use on anything in your house.  It seems to work as well as any other all purpose cleaner I have in the house.  And, you can use it on carpets too!  All in all, I am very happy with Charlie's Soap Cleaners.  It's safe.  It's biodegradeable. It's Hypoallergenic. 

So, I contacted the people at Charlie's Soap and asked them if I could host a review and giveaway on my blog.  They said yes and I scored some more powder detergent and all purpose cleaner!

Tropical Traditions Coconut for Hair Treatment Review & Giveaway

With my curiosity about cooking with coconut oil and all its health benefits satisfied, I'm moving on to Coconut Hair Treatment.  I was sent the Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil For Hair Treatment.  to review.

 

Note to self - more is not less.  I did put way too much in the first time I tried it.  After which, I had to be at a church dinner 1 hour later.  My hair looked like it had either not been washed for 2 years or that it was permanently wet.  After washing it (immediately when I got home) I was very happy with the results.  The directions do say: Suggested Uses:  For dry scalp: Rub into hair and scalp at least 30 minutes before showering, or before bed at night. Wear a shower cap or towel to protect bedding.  As a hair conditioner: Rub into the ends of your hair after washing, while the hair is still wet. Apply as needed, working towards the scalp. It can also be used as a pre-wash hair treatment applying just before showering.  So, I followed the directions.  I just thru a church service in there for good measure!  I was happy with the softness of my hair after washing with it and it didn't have any strong smell.  I'm going to try the overnight treatment a couple times a week for a couple months and see how it goes.  I do have an extremely dry scalp.

After just ending the Easter Gift Guide I've decided to keep on-going reviews and reviews with giveaways for the Wedding, 1st Communion and Confirmation season.
