With all of my sandal review and giveaways I have done recently, I have been learning a lot about footwear.  A fabulous site I found for information on children's footwear is Dr. ShoeMom.  Dr. ShoeMom is actually Dr. Sylvie, a podiatrist and, more importantly, a mom to two beautiful girls.  She is constantly asked by other moms to recommend shoes for their children. So, she started Dr. ShoeMom, a free resource to moms everywhere that provide recommendations for kids shoes that meet the requirements of being good for your child's feet. Every week, she provides recommendations for kids shoes that she believes meet the requirements of being good for your child’s’ feet, extremely comfortable and super-stylish. She is careful to recommend all types of different shoes in a variety of price ranges.  Dr. ShoeMom also has a section on how to properly fit a shoe for your child.

We have a variety of feet in our house.  Kayla has an average foot and can purchase any shoe off the shelf.  Samantha, along with having wide feet, has one leg that is an inch longer than the other.  This is due to her Scoliosis and Neurofibromatosis. So, in addition to needing a wide width shoe, we also need a shoe that will fit a lift well.  Ben and Gracie also have wide feet.  It's good to have a resource to go to for shoe recommendations, and the ability to send a specific question to a Podiatrist!

FloJo's Men's Cole II Sandals Review & Giveaway / Father's Day Gift Guide

I have been really lucky finding some fabulous summer sandals so far this season and Flojos® (pronounced flo-hos, meaning “kick back” in Spanish) is right at the top of our list.  I contacted them specifically for their men's sandals (I tend to forget that anyone else but myself needs footwear in the house) that would make a perfect Father's Day Gift and perfect for Fun in the Sun!   Flojos® was kind enough to send me the Men's Cole II to review.

 

The Cole II has a comfort footbed, arch support, beveled edges, and leather strap with a rolled nylon lining.  I know this sounds cheesy but I was very impressed with the quality of the shoe and Joe said they feel like he's walking on air.  Since we all live in our flip flops in the summer, comfort and workmanship are the most important qualities I look for in summer footwear.  Style is third on the list, and Flojos® does not disappoint! The Cole II is in the Men's "Street Wear" section, but they have a "Beach Wear" Section also!  This is the Flojo.  The original Sandal that started it all!

The Flojo has cross over straps with a heel strap. No better way to keep the sandals on your feet when you need a little extra security. Top it off with an all rubber construction to dry quickly after a splash in the water!

And ladies don't you worry, Flojos has MANY fabulous Women Sandals as well, including the original Flojo and the Collette II! But the sandal I would choose for myself is the Blair.

 

Wow! Take a walk on the clouds with the Blair. This sandal features memory foam sock and soft manmade strap.  How comfy do these sandals look? (And Flojo, if you're reading this, I wear a size 8 and prefer charcoal and turquoise-LOL)

We can't forget the kiddos.  The Cole(ette) is available for the kids and here are couple others.

KINeSYS Children's Suncare Review & Giveaway / Groschen Goblins Fun in the Sun Guide

Having fun in the sun is important, but protecting our skin from the damages of it, is just as important, especially for our kiddos. I recently contacted KINeSYS about a review of their sun care products and received the KINeSYS KIDS SPF 30 Alcohol free Sunscreen Spray, the the SPF 30 Girl Sunscreen Spray and the SPF 30 Sun Protection Stick.  I am Irish, so I have fair skin and burn easily.  All of the Goblins are at least 1/2 German and tan very easily-almost instantly-making me very envious, but also forgetful that they still need their skin protected from the sun.  The Goblins had their Track and Field day last week and we finally got to try out the KINeSYS products.  The kids really liked it and we felt it held true to it's claims. Kinesys is designed with kids in mind, this fun-to-apply, no-mess product has a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) rating of 30, meaning that it extends the body's natural UV resistance by 30 times. If applied as directed, this product will effectively absorb both UVA and UVB rays. This gentle non-irritating formula is ideal for children, sprays on easily and dries fast for little athletes on the go and comes in a bright fun package kids enjoy.  The Girl Sunscreen is basically just like the KIDS spray with a Green Tea and Vanilla fragrance. A nice touch and a good idea for tween and teen girls (which I have).  I really like the Sun Protection Stick. I could easily put it on their face and lips instead of trying to apply lotion or spraying something on my hand and applying it to their face.  We really like the KINeSYS Children's Sun Care Line!
